What is Genuine Art?

In my opinion, it’s real people creating beauty… investing their own hands, their own hard work, their own sweat, toil and imagination – that’s the essence of true creation. It comes from within, mined from a seam close to the heart, deeper than any sentient machine could even reach.

As an artist, I see the world in vibrant hues, spotting beauty and inspiration in so many places. So many ideas, so many plans and dreams. Yet, knowing I am only human, I wrestle with the fact that some will never be. Some beautiful works of art, crafted joyously in my mind, would certainly be victim to constant marching of time, left to only memory and wish. This is the wretched curse of an artist – the internal grieving and mourning of artwork your hands will never create. All-powerful time will not allow it, and you have no appeal.

With limited days left on this earth, each piece I create gains more value to me personally. Knowing my body of work will eventually come to conclusion, I approach each project as my way of investing in the future world beyond my time. Every piece is a personal expression of my existence, my time and skill, my talent and imagination – my life.
